Gardenworks
This weekend saw me putting in some time in the garden~ getting more things in order, trimming up the things that had dead sections on them from the drought last year (a lot of damage...), and tidying up the borders a bit.
Also, buying plants! Here are some I picked up at a quick trip to the local grocery store.

First batch of annuals

The New Dawn climbing rose is out in a lacey flush of first leaves, giving a delicious sense of closure to the front porch.~

New Dawn closure

The tulips and irises are flourishing...

Tulips and irises

I didn't really plan this, since I probably wouldn't have put purple and pink together, but it doesn't look half bad...
I think I'll consider adding some in a certain shade of soft gold-yellow, to tie in with the ground cover (you can just barely glimpse it in this photo behind the flowers), or Apricot Beauties, to go with the orange pollen bits of the barberry. But burgandy would be overkill.

Thank you, Mermaid! I feel the same way about you, actually!

You actually inspire me to be kinder and more forgiving, because I remember how you are when anyone hurts you, always striving to be without bitterness, to forgive and wish them well.

Is that Blue Daze in the first picture? Whatever it is, it's pretty!

I know you're happy that spring has sprung. Me? I'm eye-balling pictures of pumpkins, yearning for fall to roll back around. lol

Nice pictures!

Hi Christine,

It all looks so pretty. Thanks for letting me know about where that was. You were in my neck of the woods. You should check out Fernbank Park sometime, it's right on the river and is my favorite place to go for walks.
